Pre Home Listing Checklist

When it comes time to sell your home some work before hand to prepare your home can go a long way to make your home sell quicker and possibly for a higher price

Selling you home can be a stressful experience follow this checklist to make it easier.

Curb appeal

Check these items to give your home some great curb appeal.

  • Add plants with colors that complement the house
  • Keep lawn mowed
  • Edge all sidewalks and driveway
  • Weed and mulch all flower beds
  • Prune dead wood out of trees and shrubs
  • Paint front door
  • Add a new doormat
  • Add a new mailbox if needed

Exterior

Get your homes exterior looking good.

  • Wash siding and driveway
  • Remove driveway stains and fill cracks
  • Re seal driveway if asphalt
  • Re stain deck if present
  • Wash windows and repair screens
  • Clean out window wells
  • Paint siding and trim if necessary
  • Clean and repair gutters and downspouts if needed
  • Replace missing shingles or re-roof if necessary
  • Ensure all exterior lights and doorbell are working

Interior

Get your homes interior looking good.

  • Deep clean all floors
  • Clean windows including glass, casings, sills, and window treatments
  • Repair holes and cracks in walls
  • Paint interior, ideally in neutral colors
  • Clean baseboards
  • Organize and clean basement
  • Replace any burnt out lights
  • Dust lights and ceiling fans
  • Dust all shelves and any art
  • Remove family photos
  • Take out all trash
  • Fix leaky faucets
  • Clean out and organize closets
  • Clean and/or replace all filters
  • Clean all vents
  • Replace worn rugs

Laundry Room

  • Put away all laundry
  • Dust and organize shelves
  • Wipe down washer and dryer
  • Clean all surfaces

Kitchen

  • Minimize Items on the counter
  • Remove magnets from refrigerator
  • Wipe down all cabinet doors, frames, and insides
  • Organize all drawers and cabinets
  • Ensure all appliances are working
  • Deep clean refrigerator and stove

Bathroom(s)

  • Clean or replace shower curtain
  • Remove rust and mildew stains
  • Replace worn rugs and towels
  • Check and clean exhaust fan
  • Ensure toilet operates properly
  • Ensure the sink/tub/shower drain well
  • Clean all surfaces
  • Remove soap residue from shower/tub
  • Check the water pressure at all fixtures

    • Garage(s)

  • Wash floor
  • Seal or paint floor
  • Organize items on shelves
  • Organize to create floor space
  • Ensure garage door is working
